Bergamot Essential Oil


Bergamot is a citrus type plant with many health benefits.

Properties: Antibacterial, anti-infectious, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic, antispasmodic, antiseptic, sedative and uplifting.

Historical Uses: Bergamot is native to Italy. The Italians have used it to relieve and cool fevers, expel intestinal worms and protect against maleria.

Possible Uses: Anxiety, boils, bronchitis, acne, cold sores, coughs, eczema, emotions, fever, infectious diseases, insect bites, psoriasis, sore throat, nervous tension, thrush, urinary tract infections, regulate appetite, cystitis, supports the endocrine system, gallstones, gonorrhea, soothes lungs, respiratory infection, scabies, acute tonsillitis and spot varicose veins.

Aromatic Guide: It may help relieve depression, tension, stress and anxiety. It is refreshing and uplifting.

Application:

  • Topically – Can be applied neat to the skin. Can be applied to forehead, reflex points or directly onto the area of concern.
  • Aromatically – Can also be diffused.
  • Internally – Can be added to food or water to be taken internally. Bergamot has been classified as GRAS by the FDA for human consumption.
