Clary Sage Essential Oil
Known for its uplifting and mood-lightening attributes, Clary sage is widely used by women to soothe monthly discomfort associated with their menstrual cycles. Studies have shown it offers mood-enhancing properties during a massage.
Properties: Antifungal, antiseptic, anticonvulsant, antispasmodic, astringent, sedative, soothing, and warming.
Historical Uses: Used during the Middle Ages to clear up eye problems and was nicknamed “clear eyes” during the same time. It was also widely used for skin, digestive and kidney disorders. As well as inflammation, wounds, sore throats and female complaints.
Possible Uses: doTERRA’s Clary sage essential oil may be used for cell regulation, amenorrhea, depression, circulatory problems, insomnia, insect bites, dry skin, kidney disorders, throat infection, whooping-cough and ulcers.
Application:
- Topically – can be applied neat (with no dilution). Apply to reflex points or directly to area of concern.
- Aromatically – Can be diffused.
- Internally – Clary Sage is classified as GRAS for human consumption by the FDA. Can be taken with food or water.
