Kidney stones are no fun. I personally have not had any but have had friends, family and neighbors who have and the experience they tell is always the same…..painful. Kidney stones are made from salts and minerals that stick together in and form small “stones” or pebbles. The most common ways of removing kidney stones is to “pass them” or urinate them out, this is usually a big part of the painful process.

Essential oils can be used to help rid your kidney stone faster or even dissolve it. Below are a few essential oils that can be helpful when dealing with kidney stones.

Geranium Essential Oil – Rub on the skin
doTERRA DigestZen Essential Oil blend – either take internally or rub on skin
Frankincense and Lemon Essential Oils – 3-5 drops of each in a capsule every 4 hours
Basil Essential Oil can help remove the kidney stone through the urinary tract

10 drops of pure Frankincense and 10 drops of pure Lemon essential oil in a capsule, taken every four hours.

Frankincense – purifying, calming

Lemon – dissolving effect

Basil taken regularly for six months helps remove kidney stones through the urinary tract. Basil relieves headaches and migraines and aids digestion. It removes symptoms of food poisoning, stomach infections and stops diarrhea and vomiting.

Bee Stings and Insect Bites

There is nothing as much fun as being bitten or stung by any variety of insect. Bee stings especially can be painful and sometimes even life threatening. One of the quickest and most effective way of soothing insect bites and bee stings is to rub the purest lavender essential oil available. The more potent the better. Preferably CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade) essential oil. It will give quicker relief than any other grade of essential oil.

Be sure to remove the stinger if stung by a bee, then apply the essential oil. After applying the lavender essential oil, eucalyptus or basil can also be applied. Applying a cold compress after the essential oils can also aid in pain relief.

Very few people have allergic reactions to bee stings, only about 3-4% of the population. If you are allergic, seek medical attention.

Lavender, basil, or eucalyptus essential oils are going to be an effect tool in combatting bee stings and insect bites this summer.

Valued for its restorative and calming properties, basil is commonly used for soothing sore muscles and joints, to ease breathing, and as a cooling agent for the skin*. For aromatic, topical, or dietary use.

Properties: Antibacterial, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antispasmodic, antiviral, decongestant, diuretic, disinfectant, stimulant, anticatarrhal, antidepressant, energizing, uplifting, and restorative.

Historical Uses: Basil was used historically for digestive and kidney ailments, respiratory problems, epilepsy, fevers, malaria, epidemics and poisonous insect and snake bites.

Possible Uses: Alertness, anxiety bronchitis, chills, chronic colds, concentration, nervous depression, digestion, earache, fainting, mental fatigue, headaches, soothing insect bites, insect repellent, insomnia from nervous tension, intestinal problems, poor memory, chronic mucus, muscle spasms, ovarian cysts, prostate problems, inflammation of nasal mucus membranes (rhinitis), loss of smell, snake bites, vomiting, wasp stings and whooping cough.
